Jones wins PGA Coach of the Year at SA Awards Night

Gareth Jones was awarded the 2017 PGA SA Coach of Year award at the gala SA Golf Industry Awards Night held at the Playford Hotel on Saturday night.

The night was a great success for Jones’ home club, Glenelg Golf Club, which also picked up a handful of other awards throughout the night.

The evening commenced with 2016 Club Junior Champion, Jackson Kalz, receiving the Golf SA Boys’ Vardon Trophy following a great season, and 2017 Club Junior Champion Frank Vucic taking out third place.  Emma Sutton finished runner up in the 2017 Women’s Vardon Trophy.  Fellow Glenelg coach, Adrian Wickstein, was awarded the Professional Golfers’ Association (SA) award for Teaching Professional of the Year.

The awards were a fitting recognition for Glenelg Golf Club’s commitment to their junior golf program and their elite coaching team, headed up by Jones.
